Program Description: This GEL trip will take students across the continent and immerse them in the vibrant and artistic culture of Oaxaca, Mexico.  This trip will focus on the art and culture of Oaxaca, deepening the students understanding of the important and prevalent role the arts and artists play in different regions and cultures.  Students will have the opportunity to visit ancient ruins and prehistoric caves, participate in the culinary arts, visual arts, traditional craft and dancing during a variety of workshops, among other exciting experiences.   

This program is suitable for all majors.

This GEL course satisfies the ShenEd Creative Expression Sphere requirement. 

Program Cost: $3395. This includes round trip airfare from DC area airport to Oaxaca, lodging for 7 nights, most meals, local transportation, all tour fees, entry fees, workshop fees for group activities, and 3 SU credits.

Visa: No visa required for US citizens. Other nationalities should verify with the Mexican Embassy regarding possible visa requirements. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster is required for participation in GEL.
