This non-traditional clinical rotation takes place in Jacmel, Haiti. Our group will treat patients in an in-patient setting and also in a school based setting. Visits to rural homes and schools will also take place. Community Coalition for Haiti is the host organization and the group will be exposed to serial casting, equipment fabrication, and Inter professional interactions with nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and teachers.
Isaiah 61 House provides rooms (2-4 to a room) with showers and 3 meals a day.
$2,670. This covers roundtrip airfare, accommodation, some meals and 1 SU credit. Cost does not cover personal expenses or visas (if applicable)
Visas/Passports: Students will need a US passport that is greater than 6 months from expiration. Visas required for students from Colombia, Panama, Dominican Republic, or Cuba. Students from these countries should contact the Haitian Embassy in Washington, DC.
