Program Description:

Are you interested in embarking on an exciting multicultural journey this winter??  Check out the Audencia Winter Program in Nantes, France! This 2-3 week exchange program with SU partner university Audencia in France provides an experience of a lifetime while completing undergraduate or graduate credit hours. Through course work, city tours, and company visits, you will have the opportunity to strengthen your knowledge and understanding of European management practices and the European market.  All courses are taught in English. Some courses are online.  

Application Process

Click on the Apply Now button to begin your application.  Once approved by the Center for International Programs, you will be permitted to register for the appropriate 3 credit course at SU during the spring pre-registration period.  TuitionAirfare, travel costs, room and board are each student's responsibility. Cost for winter 2022 is  Audencia program coordinators will be available to assist you with planning logistics.

Study Trip to Brussels, Belgium 

Through immersion in a French and European environment, group projects and case studies, students will increase their intercultural and communication skills and will understand both economies in the globalization process and political organisations made at the EU level.  Students will visit various cultural sites, such as the Opera Garnier, the Eiffel Tower, Versailles, as well as the landing beaches, the Caen Memorial Museum and Mont Saint Michel in Normandy, in order to get an insight into French culture.  Students will go on company visits which are to complement the teaching. Directors or senior managers are to talk to students about the strategy during the visits. An Audencia faculty accompanies the group.  Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to understand effectively how French companies work and implement strategies. At the end of their stay, the students will have a holistic view of the French and their culture and a better sense of what it means to be French today.

About the location

NantesAudencia Nantes is located in the heart of beautiful Nantes, France, which has been rated “the best place to live in France” by Le Point magazine. Students in particular enjoy a fantastic quality of life: almost 20% of Nantes residents are young people from 16 to 25 years old who study in the city.

Just two hours from Paris and less than a 30 minute drive from the Atlantic coast, Nantes Métropole is a thriving modern city with old-world flair and has approximately 600,000 residents. It is also easy to get from Nantes to London, Brussels, and Geneva. The region is a popular tourist destination, drawing around two million visitors per year, and offers countless sights and attractions for students to take advantage – both within the city and in the natural surroundings. Nearby cultural and natural attractions include:
  • "Val de Loire" region, including parks, legendary castles and cities are part of the UNESCO "World heritage of the humanity"
  • "La Baule" and the lovely beaches of the Atlantic coast
  • One of the most renowned vineyards in France, producing delicate white wines such as muscadet

Housing

There is no on-campus housing. The preferred living option is staying with host families that are near the campus.  Hotels are also available at a preferential rate.

Transportation

You can travel in Nantes by tramway, bus, busway (similar to a tram), bike, and even by boat! Nantes has an excellent public transport system. Taxis are available throughout the city as well, but Nantes is a very walkable city best explored by foot. The Nante SNCF station is the central train station where you can take trains to Paris, London, Brussels or more!
